PROGRAM GOALS

This program is designed for  prescribers who work with people who use drugs. The program will help healthcare workers work with community providers.

Addictions Medicine and Psychosocial Interventions

Location: Zoom Videoconferencing

When: July 15 – August 5 2026 Wednesday Afternoons (Weekly)

Time: 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM EST

Length: 4 weeks

Target Audience: Open to all Designations (Education Mainly Directed to Those in Prescriber /Hospital Based Setting)

  1.  AMCS – Description of Service and Initial Clinical Assessment 
  2. Getting the Patient Comfortable – Approach to Withdrawal (Focus on Medical Management)
  3. Complexity in Hospital – Focus on Capacity, Mental Health Act and Community Treatment Orders.
  4. Transition to Community – Unmet Needs and the Social Determinants of Health.

Welcome, Introduction, and Announcements – 10 minutes

Didactic Presentation – 25 minutes

Case Discussion – 45 minutes

Addressing Outstanding Questions and Session Wrap-Up – 2 minutes

Participate in group discussions

Provide feedback through evaluation activities
