Dr. Sanjeev Sockalingam is the Deputy Psychiatrist-in-Chief at the Centre for Mental Health and a Psychiatrist in the Medical Psychiatry Program at the University Health Network. He is also the Director of the Toronto Western Hospital Bariatric Surgery Psychosocial Program. At the University of Toronto, Dr. Sockalingam is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and the Director of Continuing Practice and Professional Development. In this role, he is focused on the interface of continuing professional development and quality improvement to enhance psychiatric care and patient outcomes.
He is also the Undergraduate Faculty Lead and Director of Curriculum Renewal for the Medical Psychiatry Alliance. Dr. Sockalingam’s research has focused on medical education and also on the interface between psychiatric illness and medical conditions, such as obesity, delirium and liver disease.
